"Dex was vented, free-floating into a glass jar, turned inside out. A move to the right slowly actualized into a move to the left. Inward motion sank recursively until it welled up into outward motion. Their senses seemed well aligned to the new environ, as they peered through the lightness. Logically, this portion was a test of intentions. A physical manifestation of reverse psychology. That's why Dex was trying very hard to think of no other way they wanted to be. Aging would be renewing, hunger satisfaction, desire fulfillment... And with a pop, the reality bubble burst... the essence of Dex dropped and rose away. Going around the end of that infinitely long string and back again, Dex converged upon themself. They awoke on the soggy ground, inches from their very own front door. The sun was dying as the streetlights buzzed their first flickers of illumination on the dry pavement..."
